The Story

A little about Nick.

Nicholas Fisher celebrant

Not your average Celebrant

As much as my role is all about getting to know you, I thought I would introduce you to me ahead of time and tell you a little about how I ended up becoming a civil celebrant.

I'm Nick, a romantic, creative, adventurous soul, and I live on the beautiful South Devon Coast with my partner Finola, our little tiger child (thats a bengal cat to you and me) Diego, a lot of house plants, and an ever growing collection of vinyl records!

For the past 20 years I've worked as a musician and have been incredibly fortunate to perform all over the world following my passion, whether performing at celebrity weddings on remote island beaches, gracing high-end rooftop bars in Vietnam, entertaining in the super clubs of Ibiza, or the stages of global music festivals, its been a thrill. Alongside music, I've spent much of my career working in the corporate sector where my most recent role saw me working as a Director for a national e-commerce business. I've also been regularly involved in the charity sector for many years, whether thats helping with volunteering, fundraising, or working with founders on their growth strategy. Currently, I sit on the Board of Directors for a not-for-profit CIC called NatureWave, focused on engaging people with nature for the benefit of their well-being, and the benefit of protecting the planet for future generations.

I was raised in Wiltshire as part of a very large extended family where weddings, christenings, and other events seemed to be happening almost every other week! This led to a fascination with ceremony and ritual but not something I took to as a career until much later in life when I was asked to officiate a wedding for some friends. I enjoyed that first ceremony immensely which went better than I could have ever hoped, this led to another friend asking me to officiate their wedding and the incredible feedback I received convinced me that this was something I should be doing on a permanent basis so I connected with one of the UK’s leading and in demand celebrants and completed my training. I'm now following in my fathers foot steps who has been conducting ceremonies since I was a child so you could say, its a family business!

I’ve been asked why I have chosen to conduct funerals as well as weddings, when many wedding celebrants do not? While my website may lean slightly towards weddings, I believe funerals and memorial services can and should be equally as special and often, to those affected, delivering a fitting service of remembrance can be even more important than a wedding due its lasting memory. Since I was a child I’ve always been driven by a desire and an innate ability to help people in times of need or crisis, so being able to assist people in these difficult moments gives me a sense of enormous fulfilment, and something I see as an honour to assist with.

When I'm not helping people craft their perfect ceremony of love or remembrance, I enjoy producing music, performing, and attending live events, and I’m a bit of a foodie who loves to cook up a storm in the kitchen and experience new culinary delights. I'm an avid traveller and love to immerse myself in foreign cultures, always venturing off the beaten track when abroad, I’m slowly getting better at sea swimming, and most weekends (when I'm not working) you can find me with my hiking boots on, enjoying nature and exploring Devon to its fullest with Finola. I also have a love for hats, as you can probably tell!

I'm a people person through and through who’s really looking forward to meeting you and getting to know you to create some unforgettable moments and lasting memories in your life.

For me, I love being a celebrant, every ceremony is a genuine privilege to be a part of, and I'd love to be a part of yours. Let’s connect and make your ceremony one to remember.

“Celebrate with joy.”
